Seven Burrum Vets braved the rain and intense heat on 14th and 15th March at Gayndah and Mundubbera Vets Open Comps.  Jan and Kev Leader, Ray Crosby, Stretch, Peter Griffin, Phyllis Cooper and Mel Learmonth were the team. 

As I said it was hot as hades and they had lots of that strange green stuff all over the ground.  Made it very hard to play a Burrum game. 

Mel didn’t seem to have any trouble though winning his division(2) at Mundubbera with a 35points.  He also won best nine in his division at Gayndah.  Jan won best nine for her ladies division at Gayndah.  Stretch had his worst two games on record and came second last at Gayndah and fourth last at Mundubbera.  Enough said.   Good times had though with meeting up with all the other old farts from other clubs.  Also meals at the local pub and one or two drinks.
